We Are Monsters

Everyone in the Elementary School is getting very excited about our performance of 'We Are Monsters'.  All students are involved in the play even if they are not on stage.  Students have been working hard learning all the songs.  You can hear the songs from Ms Dajani's blog.

We hope to see you there on May 30th!!

Iraq Al-Amir

What a successful field trip we had!  No one got lost, no one broke a limb and the adults got to sip on Bedouin mint tea!  Thank you so much to our parent chaperone's who kept their groups focused and on task.  The students had a blast and were exhausted by the time we got back to school.

Having a snack before we start a clean up of the site.

The work begins.

Lessons on making pottery.

Lessons on making paper.

Shopping.

Lessons on weaving.

The end of a very happy field trip :-)

Easter!

A great big shout out and recognition has to go to 2LB's room mom's Mrs Kinnear and Mrs Khorma (and Mrs Khorma's sister, Tamara) who made this morning so special  for our students.  There were four different activities, story time, cookie decorating, egg dying and an Easter Egg hunt.  The students were so excited!  Thank you again room mom's - you're the best!

Earth Day Celebrations

On April 22nd, 23rd and 24th everyone in the Elementary School had a chance to do something for the environment.  Grade 2 made decorations out of plastic bottles and created some mosaics.  Here is 2LB with their Earth Day Mosaic.

The Second Grade team are pleased to announce our long awaited field trip!  We are going to go to Iraq El-Amir on Tuesday, April 30th.  This ties in nicely with our current unit of study on communities and Jordan.

Yes, we need help.  Please get the permission slip (see below) back to your homeroom teacher as soon as possible.  Thank you :-)

Grade 2 has Talent!

Friday night, the High School Student Council hosted its annual ACS Talent Show.  This year, we had our awesome second graders start the show with one of our favourite Jump Jams, "Who Let The Dogs Out".  They did such a great job considering we were on stage for about 10 minutes before the music came on.  Also, our very own Tala and Lujain performed a wonderful dance - you girls were simply fantastic!  You are both natural performers!

There was also a surprise act with a group of the elementary teachers including, Mrs L and Mrs. T.  It was so much fun!
